Rory, our senior pastor at GAP, is married to Brenda and they have been involved in ministry in the Presbyterian Church for over 30 years. They have 3 married children. The family comes from Zimbabwe where Rory, as a qualified lawyer and advocate, was a Magistrate before they embarked on a Christian farming venture for 6 years to minister to the local farming community.
He and Brenda have extensive experience in youth ministry, and were the founders of ‘Youth Encounter’ in Zimbabwe, a national, cross-cultural, cross- denominational camp of 500 young people which has been running now for over 25 years. Their focus now is on family ministry and marriage, and they regularly are invited to speak on marriage and parenting on the radio and to wider audiences.
Rory is currently head of the Presbyterian Church in the Central Cape and has been elected to head the City Missions Team for the Port Elizabeth Churches.
Apart from preaching, Rory loves camping and wildlife adventure and sharing those experiences with the church family. He loves sport and often services get interrupted with a local sports announcement!
